Siri and Shortcuts

Handysuite supports Siri and the Shortcuts app on iOS 18 and later. Voice actions use the system app name Handysuite (Home Screen label).

Quick phrases

• Update status — “Update job status in Handysuite”
• Today’s visits — “What are my visits today in Handysuite”
• Portal link — “Get portal link in Handysuite”
• Start work — “Start work session in Handysuite”
• Finish job — “Finish job in Handysuite”
• New job — “Create a new job in Handysuite”
• Smart Intake — “Start Smart Intake in Handysuite”
• Quotation — “Generate a quote in Handysuite”

Status options follow each project’s industry program, not only your default template in Settings.

First-job setup prompt

After you create your first project, a one-time sheet explains hands-free updates. You can show it again from Settings → Preferences → Siri & Shortcuts → Show setup guide again.

Turn on Learn from Handysuite under Settings → Handysuite → Siri & Search (the app cannot toggle this for you).

In-app discovery

Settings → Preferences → Siri & Shortcuts lists common actions and links to the Shortcuts app.

Behavior notes

• Sign-in required for actions that sync to your account.
• Portal-only from Siri — status updates from Siri update the client portal; they do not send WhatsApp or open Update your client. Use the app for that ritual.
• Network — background sync needs connectivity; open the app if you were offline.
• Lock screen — End Session / Complete Job on the Live Activity opens the app to finish the action.

Arrival text automation

The app cannot create location automations for you. Use Shortcuts → Automation → Arrive:

1. Pin the job site on the map (use the project address).
2. Add Get Portal Link (Handysuite).
3. Add Send Message to your client’s number with the link.
4. Choose Run Immediately; disable Notify When Run when offered.

On the project’s portal section, tap Set up arrival text for step-by-step copy and the link to paste.

Location automations may still ask for confirmation on a locked device depending on iOS security rules.

Per-vertical status examples

Siri only accepts statuses valid for that project’s template:

• Field trades — e.g. Materials Ordered, In Progress → Completed
• Restoration Tracker — e.g. Paint, Metal Work → Completed
• Recovery Path — e.g. Active treatment, Home program → Completed
• Heirloom Build — e.g. Fabrication, Design → Completed
• Checkride Ready — e.g. Solo prep, Dual training → Passed / complete
• Pup Progress — e.g. Proofing, Foundation → Graduated
