Export a project backup

Download a ZIP with metadata, files, and local drafts.

Export a ZIP backup of a single project for your records, insurance, or migration. Output includes metadata, synced files, local drafts, and the portal URL when available.

On cellular with multiple large files, Handysuite asks you to confirm before downloading.

What is in the ZIP

  • manifest.json — export metadata and warnings
  • job.json — project fields, timeline, metrics (includes private fields not shown on portal)
  • portal-link.txt — client URL when configured
  • files/ — downloaded originals grouped by file type
  • drafts/ — local quotation, contract, or damage-report drafts not yet uploaded
  • pending-uploads/ — queued files not yet synced (with warning in manifest)

Offline behavior

Export needs network access to download server-backed files. If you are offline and files exist only in the cloud, export is blocked with a clear message rather than a partial archive.
