When keeping Jobber is the better decision
Being a solo handyman does not make connected software unnecessary. If the same record moves from booking to a quote, an appointment, an invoice, and payment, keeping that chain together can be worth more than reducing the subscription.
Jobber’s Client Hub already supports work requests, quote approvals, appointment information, and payments. Switching just to obtain a customer portal may solve a problem your existing subscription can already handle.

Choose by the missing workflow
For a few small repairs a week, write down the admin step you keep postponing. If it is sending the invoice, evaluate an invoicing product first. If it is allocating visits, evaluate scheduling. If it is answering the homeowner’s repeated progress questions, test a project update page.
A lower-cost combination can work, but the links between apps become your responsibility. Ask where the agreed amount lives, which calendar is authoritative, and who records a payment. Avoid keeping two competing versions of the same job.
- One app: fewer handoffs, but assess the plan that includes your needs.
- Several focused apps: choose each component, but budget for duplicate entry and reconciliation.
- Keep your current setup: reasonable if it is reliable and the change would save little time.
Compare equivalent billing terms
The dated product notes below show Jobber’s one-user Core options and HandySuite’s published subscription. Those prices purchase different scopes. Do not compare a monthly plan with an annual equivalent and describe the difference as a saving for identical software.
Price your whole workflow: subscription, required users, paid additions, transaction charges, and any tools you will still keep. Treat migration time as a real cost even if you do the work yourself.

Where HandySuite fits—and where it does not
HandySuite lets an iPhone or iPad user publish project updates and share a browser link. It also records verified responses to issued quotes and change orders. It does not collect payment, and it has no full invoicing suite or Android worker app.
If you need those operations from Jobber, keep them in Jobber or evaluate a replacement that explicitly supports them. A HandySuite trial should test client communication, not be treated as proof that you can retire your business system.

Run one job before moving everything
Use a fictional repeat of a recent repair: quote the original scope, reschedule the visit, record an extra task, share two progress photos, issue the final bill, and archive the record. Note every handoff that needs manual entry.
Before cancelling, export records you need, check outstanding invoices, and confirm access after the subscription ends. Do not assume a new app imports the old system’s quotes, attachments, or customer history automatically.

Common questions
Is Jobber only for teams?
No. Jobber publishes a one-user Core plan. A solo operator can still benefit from connected scheduling, quotes, invoices, and payments.
Is HandySuite a complete Jobber alternative?
No. It is an option for client project updates on iPhone and iPad. It does not replace a full invoicing suite, payment collection, or every Jobber workflow.
